Sri Dham Vrindavan

Radhe Radhe !! Sri Radhe !! Haribol. These transcendental names will continuously hum into your ears, the moment you step into the Land of Vraja. Sri Radhe, inscribed or painted on trees, everywhere in Vrindavana, devotees chanting, concentrating on the Lord's Holy Name, devotees gazing stunningly at the incomparable beauty of the Supreme Lord, in various Deity forms and resonating the glorification of Darlings.
Among all the holy places, Vrindavan is the most secret as it is the original land of the Supreme Lord.
It is located 135 km south of Delhi and 55 km north of Agra, just off the Delhi-Agra Road. It is 12 km or a 25 minute auto-rickshaw ride from Mathura.
It is the heart of greater area called Vraja-Mandala, the place of Lord Krisna's pastimes on this planet 5000 years ago. The area of present day Vrindavan is actually the place of Krisna's rasa-lila pastime and is therefore considered the topmost and the most important forest of the twelve forests in Vraja. There is a parikrama-road around the town and some devotees respectfully circumambulate Vrindavan every day. Temples, shrines, ashrams, bazaars, devotees blanketing the roads and streets - this is how the ancient town looks today. Vrindavan is having 5000 temples and shrines only connected to the pastimes of the Supreme Lord. One can walk around the town in about 2 hours, but to go through all streets and see all the altars may possibly take even months.

Coming up next, a note on the Seven most important temples of Vrindavan.
